Claims of truth

Social psychology

here is an article that i wrote in regards to my psychology class.i thought id share it.
Social psychology is the study of how a person's thoughts and behavior are

affected by others. According the Dutch philosopher Spinoza humans are

“social animals”.

Social psychology contains elements of both sociology and psychology. People
pPerception and their social awareness vary from one individual to another and are

defined by their social interaction. Our attitude toward others is most of the time

biased and based on social prejudice. This makes us either conform to social norms

and set of values or stand out and be outcast. However we are all subject to tacit

agreements which we will review in this paper.

We perceive people everyday as we go on our daily routines. Little do we

about them but we have already forged subconsciously an image to these

individuals.

What impressions do we have of them? We unconsciously judge people constantly

and this determines the way we interact with them in the first place is a process

called person perception. Our brain consistently collects information from others

(looks, dress, and behavior in the circumstance).

That dictate how we react to others people. This is a major premise when it comes to

How we perceive others alongside with our own sets of beliefs and assumptions.

Therefore it is only right to say that we categories people based on their

outer looks. For instance the Muslim guy with the long beard will assumed to be an

extremist, or the man in a suit a rich man. How we fit people in categories isn’t

always true but we base ourselves on stereotypes and our own implicit theory on

behavior. We judge people because we feel different from ant the attempt to explain

their behavior is called attribution. We all have different attitudes, that is how we

response to social stimulation (objects, people and environement).Their are two

categories of people: First, those who change their attitude in order to fit in a given

social class. The psychologist Salomon Asch named this process conformity. The

tendency to to adopt the common values of social environement. For instance a

college student who unwillingly starts dinking because of peer pressure. Conformity

is the act of complying with the tacit agreement of one‘s rules. Second, those who

stand out as outcasts and are marginalized by society for being different or thinking

differently. Everybody perceives himself to be a certain way, in a positive light most

of the time. We picture ourselves to be helpful, generous, kind, smart. However our

self image is merely a result of society. People are capable of the worst inhuman

atrocities such as torturing and killing when complying with social rules known as

laws. In fact, Stanley Milgram experiences conducted on obedience, revealed that

most people Rather comply blindly to law even tat the expense of human life. There

are inevitably exception, but this means that society conditions us to conform. This

Experience allowed us to understand human mass murder such as the holocaust, or

Genocide of Rwanda.

We are all social animals whose perceptions of others come from our own process of

Attribution is subjective .We tend to explain surrounding people‘s behavior and fit

them in social categories according to our perception of them.

This is very funny

I was on watching the news this morning and i came across this video.i could not believe this.
Its got to be the funniest thing ever. Ukrainian Politicians went through a brawling at the assembly to settle beef. What better way of doing it? Throwing eggs and milk at each other. we could only imagine the general population behavior judging from what the decision taking elite can get down to!here is a glimpse of it.

Hip hop and community

A friend just sent me the link to this youtube video that i found very interesting.I thought i'd share it with my blog viewers.

Basically, it is a crew of hip hop break dancers a.k.a "bboys"
who travel to Africa to teach young needy African children the art of dancing. It enables those deprived children who went through tough life experiences to escape from their harsh realities.
This program allows communities to gather and celebrate the essence of youth, uplift young Ugandans.

The hip-hop culture is often associated with violence and negatives massage. This video breaks the stereotypes as it shows us that music is universal.Indeed, bridges the gap between cultures and can convey positive massages throughout the community.I feel deeply humbled by this video and have much respect for this initiave taken by the "bouncing cats".

Here is the link to the video!

unit paper 2: analytical writing

Jean marc
Roungou
E82A

Analytical writing:

As we just went past the first decade of the second

millennium, the world we live is going through some very

important changes. Scientist are talking about climate

change, the planet is going through a global

warming.

Though, Pioneers have explored new paths in different

domains, ranging from nano technology to clean energy..

Science has provided answers to several health

problems. We are able to performs some tasks easier that in

the past. Our ways of life are drastically different, from our

parent’s We are surrounded

by a technology pioneering enterprise, the world that is.

However, the rapid expansion of industrialization

throughout the world has left some negative side

effects. Humans have strongly contributed , and,

still today, to spoiling our resources, affecting our

environment. In this paper we ought to wonder on the

Environment current stakes at play.

About two months ago, Copenhagen held a climate change

summit which convened Governments from all over the

world. Were presents both G8 countries and G20.

Environmentalist from all continents gathered in the

Danish capital city. Several thousand of protesters came to

show their support and to pressurize governments. WWF

expected a restrictive consensus from Industrialized power.

The USAs and China, as the most polluting countries, were

awaited to implement demanding and compromising text in

regarding their co2 emission. This didn’t happen.

It looks to me like countries only convened to set another

reconvening day this year.

Human’s activity since the 19th century has played a

negative role in climate change .we are facing today, some

of those consequences In fact Human irreversible activity

degraded the ozone Layer. The most pessimistic scientist

are talking about a 2 Degrees Celsius increase before 2050

on earth. The current temperature is of 15 degrees Celsius.

As a result, this will lead to severe weather

Disturbances, nature catastrophes, massive floods and polar

Ices melt. Nothing to rejoice about really!

On the contrary optimistic scientist prediction are less

alarming .The climate Change is independent from

human activity and is due to the cyclical planet climate

eras. We are not to fear cataclysmic changes

Both theories fundamentally differ But only time will tell.

For the moment being we cannot rest on our Lories.

We have responsibilities as earth current inhabitants to

preserve the best we can our environment, to hand it

over in the life possible conditions to future generations. It is

our duty to raise awareness of the importance on being “eco-

intelligent” and transmit this legacy to our children. Time is

no longer on our side and we need to act now. Enforce new

policies to create sustainable clean energy jobs. The couple of

past decade witnessed the computer revolution, the decades to

come will surely witness green energy revolution. “What role

we want to play for humanity?”

Nature has

provided us wind, sun and and biomass witch are

Unexhaustive and renewable resources that can be converted

into clean energy.

One thing is for sure we cannot change our past but we can

change the future.

Unit paper 1: my weekend

Jean marc
Roungou

E82

I spent my weekend reading Mario Puzzo’s novel “omerta”

It is his third novel that I have read after “fools die”, the

“last Don”. That

is if we exclude the world known god father that I have

watched over and over , and never tire watching. The odds

are that you have watched it too.

Mario Puzzo’s Novels are that addictives. One you start

reading one, you Simply can’t get enough.

The story line is captivating as usual invites , the reader ,

into The backstage of a scrupulousness criminal world. The

Characters involved in different sorts of vendetta, will try

To outsmart a pending death fate that’s hanging over their

Heads.

I enjoy polars a lot, tough I feel I hadn’t had the real deal as

Is about a novel about the crime world, in the United

States. New York, Italians families or “coscas”, battle for

power Over the city’s underworld.

fascinated by his style. Reading Puzzo is like watching a

thriller Movie. I couldn’t get myself to stop reading, page

after Page, I was glued to the book. The intrigue is nicely

conducted.and suspense is intense. There is always an

unexpected twist to watch out for a “hit man job” to be

done The book captivated me very much. The book was so

captivating; I read omerta

I suddenly catch myself dreaming.Dreamingi had become

some sort of underground Sicilian mobster. Sitting on my

Veranda in Sicily eating olive fruits , drinking some red

wine and puffing on a cigar while

waching the sun set over the hills .Mediterranean hills

where live, villagers that respected and fear my.Judgement

more than the

police. They put there trust in my fair hand like , feudal

vassals. I offered them my protection , I showed them love

and goodwill give them favors.

More than the government, I support them They shall never

fell hunger I am their Mobster Hero , their modern day

robin hood just Like Don Cleruzio or Astorre.Suddenly I

realize it is only a dream ,a fantasy.

I read , the novel throughout as if I was watching a movie.

Something like a fiction about some mobster’s vendetta for

man loss.Protagonists take risky gambles with the law. Fear

no law, or corrupted law enforcers but only god. They love their famillies and honor them. To those who enjoy these

great time killers, I recommend “omerta”. This is

an offer that you cannot refuse! I bet you are going to like

it!

Later the father was made aware of some bad news that tainted his happiness with a spot of imcomphrension. He was only the father of one of the twins.
The doctors after performing blood tests on the new born babies discovered that the father only shared the genetical code with one baby.the second twin comes from a different union. In fact it is a very rare situation. But science has been able to answer these cases as it has happened before.
